Getting messy is an important part of our school experience. It helps us to tolerate being messy, heightens our senses, and can help us regulate our sensory systems. We usually play with shaving cream at the table once a week. Some of us really enjoy squishing it in our fingers, and others of us prefer to only touch the shaving cream with playdough tools!

Messy Table -- Harvest Corn

We have harvest corn in our messy table this week! We are using our hands to explore the way our corn feels...from the papery husk, to the smooth and bumpy kernels, to the soft cob. We are also using our fingers to pop kernels off of the cob...great for strengthening our fine motor skills! Later this week, we will use the kernels we have collected in an art project.
